On behalf of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, we would like to thank you for all of your timely monthly pledges. Please continue to send your monthly pledges in order for us to be able to pay the large monthly expenses for your church.

We would like to remind you that your church relies on every single dollar that you can donate and pledge.

In July, we only collected $1435.00. Our church expenses total up to over $4000.00 a month. This is a tremendous burden on the rest of our parishioners when all who are capable of helping do not. Do you know how much we collect from the donation baskets every Sunday? We average about $90.00-$120.00 every Sunday. How can we pay all of these expenses if everyone does not attend church and help every Sunday?

You know, some people in other cities have an excuse not to come to church every Sunday! Some would say, oh, it’s too hard to wake up and come to the 10:00 or 11:00 o’clock Mass because we were out all night Saturday and were too tired to come to church. Well, no one can use that excuse here! Our church Mass doesn’t start until 4:00 PM. That means, you can go out the night before, sleep until 2:00 PM on Sunday if you like, and still be at church at 4:00 PM regardless of how far you live from your church.

It’s not fair that we ask Father Andrawis Toma to drive for three hours from San Jose and Father Michael to drive for almost two hours from Ceres to come and perform the Holy Liturgy every Sunday and only have 60-70 people attend. Where are the rest of you? Please come and share the joy of being in the presence of God and at His house.

We’d like to remind you of what Father Andrawis said during the last Sunday’s Mass.

He said: “people will drive to Las Vegas for nine hours to go and have fun, but will not drive thirty minutes to come and spend an hour with their Lord”. We ask the Almighty God to give and bless you with hope, faith but most of all with love and a forgiving heart.

Until next month we’d like to leave you with Malachi 3:7-12.
